IntroductionProgress Report - June 2005 (.pdf, 54k / .doc, 846k) The abolition of the Legal Aid Board in March 2000 saw the establishment of the Legal Services Commission in April 2000, resulting in the development of many Community Legal Service Partnerships throughout the UK. The Barnsley Community Legal Services Partnership was established in April 2000. Its main aim is to ensure that no resident of Barnsley is excluded for any reason from having access to good quality legal advice and or assistance. A Steering Group of a cross section of local voluntary, private and public services was formed immediately and this meets on a regular basis. Click here for an up to date list of current Steering Group Members. Members of the Steering Group have worked hard to produce a Needs Analysis Report highlighting the main areas of Need in Barnsley and the main gaps for supply. This has been followed by the Strategy report which includes an Action Plan detailing the Partnership’s ideas of how the unmet need and supply can be provided. The Partnership produces a newsletter updating on recent developments. ( All of these documents are available to view and download by clicking)
